Weekly film nights with popcorn, and any drink you can think of is the promise from a pristine new city centre pub in Cardiff.

The Three Rivers is set to open in April in Central Cardiff and there are lots of plans happening to make it a last stop for the locals and all sorts of entertainment. The pub will open following a £265,000 financing venture of the venue and is to be christened after the Taff, the Ely and the Rhymney, which lie at the centre of Cardiff.

The pub opening will generate eight new jobs, and is being promoted as a modern-style pub for coffee, a bite to eat by day or a location to party with friends during the course of the night. With the pub commencing at 7am, Monday to Saturday, punters can start their day with a range of breakfast choices including poached eggs and bacon, a full English breakfast or Greek style-yoghurt with an assortment of fruit.

The menu consists of pub grub such as handmade Steak and Ale pie or a series of burgers. There are also eight foods under 500 calories and plenty of vegetarian options for those seeking the healthier option.

The pub’s drinks menu is crammed with wines, premium lagers and cocktails. It will also provide a variety of cask ales from its three hand pull pumps.

A regular Sunday movie night will commence in the middle of April at some point.

“We are really looking forward to hosting weekly movie nights and have candy floss and game machines to give it a real cinema feel,” said The Three Rivers’ General Manager, Gareth Alberts.

“We also plan to introduce a pub games night on Tuesdays with FIFA competitions and beer pong competitions so there will be something for everyone to enjoy.”

Gareth and his team are welcoming local businesses and residents to have a good time at the pub’s launch at a champagne welcome from 5pm to 7pm on the 1st of April.

Visitors will be greeted by stilt walkers and fire breathers on entrance, in advance of being bid to try tasters from the menu. A magician will also be performing captivating magic tricks during the evening along with the usual pub machines and games you can expect. As an exclusive and prompt Easter treat, Easter rabbits will be bounding around the pub, dishing out chocolate treats.
