Following a study by coach operator Flixbus that stated Weston-super-Mare is “set to make a huge comeback in 2026,” leisure guide Time Out has added its praise, stating a visit to the resort is “a lovely day out.”
With domestic tourists demonstrating “a renewed love for quintessential British beach breaks” the timeless Somerset resort is reportedly poised for a strong summer season, with the Grand Pier a major draw.
“Weston-Super-Mare is, despite what naysayers might have you believe, a lovely day out,” said Time Out’s Annie McNamee. “I visited last summer just for something to do on a sunny day, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed myself.”
“A visit to the Grand Pier is a must, especially if you have kids. We also went on the big wheel, which offered brilliant views of the water, went on the waltzers, and enjoyed some fresh fish and chips while battling seagulls.”
Flixbus, which based its findings on booking data and searches via its website, as well as Google and social media such as TikTok, said Weston offers visitors nostalgia, entertainment, good food, and the beach, with people “craving the simple pleasure of a day by the sea.”
