Adventure Island in Southend has been shortlisted for the National Family Business of the Year Awards 2026, with a ceremony due to take place on 17 June.
The annual honours have run since 2012, and celebrate businesses making the most of multigenerational skillsets to thrive across various sectors.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for this award,” said operations director James Miller. “It’s a real honour and a proud moment for everyone involved. As a family run business, this recognition means so much to us because it reflects the dedication and hard work that goes on behind the scenes every single day.”
“We are proud to be a Queen’s Award for Enterprise winning company, and this year is especially significant as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Adventure Island. These milestones really highlight the journey we’ve been on as a family business and make this recognition in the National Family Business of the Year Awards even more meaningful.”
“From my dad Philip Miller, our Executive Chairman, to my cousin Marc Miller, our Managing Director, and so many other members of the family, everyone plays a vital role whether that’s supporting the day to day operations of the park or ensuring everything runs smoothly for our visitors. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built together as a family.”
