Andrew Ludlow: “The feedback from customers and the strength of the forward pipeline exceeded anything we have ever achieved at previous trade shows”

Boomerang enjoyed its most successful trade show to date at EAG ‘26, registering record levels of customer engagement, confirmed orders and a future pipeline. Andrew Ludlow reflects on an event that exceeded expectations on every level, from the company’s largest-ever stand, its expanded one-stop-shop portfolio to the overwhelmingly positive industry response. He discusses key wins, standout products, regulatory talking points and explains why EAG fires a starting pistol on the business year ahead.

Coinslot: How did the show go for you this year: did it meet your expectations?

Andrew Ludlow: This question was put to me prior to EAG, and at that point my expectations were anchored around maintaining the momentum generated by EAG 2025, which was a hugely successful event for Boomerang.

Fundamentally, EAG provides the key opportunity in the business year to engage with an expanding customer base as well as constituting a powerful platform from which to demonstrate that Boomerang is a genuine ‘one-stop shop’ for operators. In practical terms this means delivering an integrated, end-to-end portfolio that generates tangible value.

I can honestly say that my expectations were surpassed on several levels. Our stand, which was the largest presence we have ever taken, had fantastic ‘kerb appeal’. It was also incredibly functional and enabled us to showcase our expanded portfolio and meet the key objectives that we set.

The Boomerang team worked tirelessly across all three days and I honestly believe that had there been an award for the busiest stand or team, we would certainly have been strong contenders. Most importantly, the feedback from customers, the volume of orders secured, and the strength of the forward pipeline exceeded anything we have ever achieved at previous trade shows.

Make no mistake, we are entering what will be a very busy and exciting period for the Boomerang brand!

Coinslot: Any key developments finalised at EAG – new agreements signed, new appointments, installations agreed etc?

Andrew Ludlow: EAG is a key fixture in the Boomerang calendar and both the orders and the pipeline generated from the show were excellent.

We secured a number of significant orders across several product categories during the show, and there will be some positive announcements to share in the coming weeks and months. So, watch this space!

Coinslot: What were the stand highlights – which products caught the attention and what was reaction to your portfolio of products?

Andrew Ludlow: The stand itself was certainly a highlight and provided a great method of showcasing what the Boomerang brand stands for and of course, our market position of being a one-stop-shop for operators.

The sheer volume of positive feedback and the comments we received were testament to the resource and creativity invested in delivering what was our strongest ever show presence. I would say that every single one of our products engaged with operators and generated confirmed orders not least for our mobile membership app, the machine data management systems Click and Quantum, our entire range of Paystations, Bingo Express and of course Jigsaw.

Our status as a genuine ‘one-stop shop’ is reflected in the level of orders we are receiving. I am extremely grateful to our customer base for their ongoing confidence in Boomerang but also recognise that we have to earn that support through the consistent delivery of best-in-class solutions backed by what I believe to be the very best team in the business.

Coinslot: It’s going to be a defining year for the business – new legislation and new regulation. How did you gauge the general mood of the industry and what were the main talking points?

Andrew Ludlow: I can only comment on what we experienced on the stand at EAG. Based on the volume of visitors we received, the orders placed and the expressions of interest that were made I have to say the mood was positive and optimistic.

It should come as no surprise that regulation was the dominant theme in particular current consultations around Bingo and Category D, the White Paper, and Gaming Machine Technical Standards (GMTs).

The need for a Triennial Review was also raised on numerous occasions. There was a sharp focus on compliance, the importance of self-exclusion, and the growing role of facial recognition technology as a method of enhancing player protection.

As a company that’s immersed in the industry, we are extremely well positioned to support our customers and partners in navigating these changes and delivering intelligent, cost-effective and compliant solutions.

Coinslot: Now the show is over, what’s on your agenda going into spring in terms of new products, new projects and more exhibitions?

Andrew Ludlow: We went straight from EAG to ICE, in fact I’m writing this from Heathrow airport waiting for my flight to Barcelona.

In many ways the real work starts once the shows are over. The priority is to deliver on the conversations and of course the orders taken. EAG and ICE really start the business year and it’s so important to get off to a strong and positive start.

As always, innovation remains central to Boomerang, and while there are new developments in the pipeline, for now those plans remain under wraps.
