GBG welcomes launch of the night-time economy partnership charter

The Gambling Business Group has endorsed the UK’s first Partnership Charter for the Night-Time Economy, making clear its commitment to the shared principles launched at the Institute of Licensing’s (IoL) annual conference.

GBG General Manager Charlotte Meller said: “The Gambling Business Group is proud to have signed the new Partnership Charter for the Night-Time Economy. We fully support its principles. Gambling premises have an important role in safe, well run high streets and stronger collaboration between operators, licensing teams and community partners is essential.”

The Charter establishes a new collaborative framework for organisations across the sector, responding to recommendations from the joint industry and HM Government Licensing Taskforce for improved operating practices and stronger partnerships.

“At the heart of every great town or city is its night-time economy,” said IoL Patron Philip Kolvin KC. “The Partnership Charter represents a new way for the public and private sectors to work together to create safe, welcoming and thriving night time economies.”
