Pixel Busters introduces three-hour sessions amid rising energy costs

FEC Pixel Busters in Stoke-on-Trent is introducing timed sessions as rising utility bills continue to put pressure on businesses.

Located on the Chell Street Industrial Estate in Hanley, the FEC has announced a new operating structure which will see visitors attend in three-hour slots from this month. The venue has also confirmed it will only open on Sundays for private bookings for the “foreseeable” future.

“We have had to make some changes to how we operate going forward due to utility and other costs all increasing,” said a spokesperson for the operator. “The late session will be aimed at adults with higher-rated movies on the screen and people being able to bring food and drink. There will not be an age limit for this session.”

Under the new timetable, the early session will run from 12.30pm until 3.30pm, followed by a mid-session from 4pm to 7pm and a late session from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.

The changes reflect mounting pressure on leisure and hospitality businesses facing rising energy costs, higher employer National Insurance contributions and increases to the National Minimum Wage introduced earlier this year.
