With its biggest investment for three years, Clacton Pier will complete a major overhaul of its bowling centre to introduce QubicaAMF’s immersive BES NV Neoverse system – the first of its kind in the UK.
Clacton Pier is set to introduce a UK-first bowling experience following a major investment in its existing Lanes Bowling Centre. Work will begin on 8 June to install QubicaAMF’s BES NV Neoverse system, with the project expected to take around two weeks to complete. The upgrade will include new bowling machines, lane surfaces and a 16-metre LED screen designed to interact with players in real time. A second phase will also introduce self-service kiosks and new seating.
Pier general manager Harry Peek described the project as the biggest investment at the attraction since the launch of Jurassic Pier three years ago.
“This will really excite all our bowling fans with vivid, immersive and captivating equipment and a totally new experience. It includes a selection of high quality on-demand themes, environments and games for groups or individuals to enjoy,” he commented. “Our current system which was put in in 2011 is very intricate and mechanical and needs upgrading. The Neoverse product will be much more reliable and no one else will be offering this experience.”
Clacton Pier director Billy Ball said continued investment was essential to maintaining visitor interest.
“It is vital that we always strive to improve our offer for our guests and provide the very best in family entertainment and fun,” he concluded. “If you don’t you will find that they will go elsewhere in search for more and better attractions.”
