Carlton Bingo has received “amazing” feedback for its latest community engagement campaign, which brought bingo to dozens of local care homes and day centres.
Teams from clubs across the country held prize bingo afternoons at a number of venues, with the sessions having a profound impact on players, volunteers and Carlton staff.
“Truthfully, we thought it would be great for positive publicity,” a spokesperson told Bingo Connect. “But we’ve found the whole experience very humbling.”
“We’ve met a lot of characters and seen care staff go above and beyond. It’s been special taking bingo to people who can no longer join us in the clubs.”
In Stirling, assistant care home managers Alison Williamson and Christopher Graham said: “It was great to give residents a fun afternoon and to see how strong Carlton’s presence is in the Stirling community.”
Staff at Moray Resource Centre said: “It was really lovely to see how everyone engaged,” while teams from Netherha Care Home added “residents and families have been amazing in their feedback. We’re organising a staff outing to the bingo to give something back.”
Bingo Connect also expressed its admiration for Carlton’s efforts, writing “low-cost, high-impact, and hugely social – this is bingo doing what it does best: bringing people together.”
