Rio Bingo has successfully brought bingo back to Wisbech, having taken over the former Empire Bingo Hall on Blackfriars Road after it closed unexpectedly in July.
The new venue was officially opened with a grand ceremony on 30 November, with mayor Janet Tanfield cutting the ribbon.
“A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our grand opening, your support, energy, and enthusiasm made the evening truly special,” said director Paul Austin-Roberts.
“We are incredibly grateful to our customers, staff, and community for helping us celebrate this milestone.”
Rio had hoped to open the Wisbech hall at the beginning of November, however a delay over the signing of the lease “put paid to that ambition.”
The venue was welcomed by the local community, who had signed a petition to bring bingo back to Wisbech after Winners Bingo closed the Empire with one day’s notice during the summer.
“Thank you once again for being part of our opening night. We look forward to seeing you again.”
