Shop floor voices to shape safer gambling conversations at October’s Bacta SR Exchange

The Bacta SR Exchange was oversubscribed in 2025 prompting the trade association to secure a new and bigger venue to cater for sustained demand for places. The success of the Exchange is based on its mission to deliver practical take-outs for consumer-facing team members in an inclusive environment. Member companies are being encouraged to register their interest and reserve their places at October’s event.

Bacta has confirmed that the 2026 edition of its popular and acclaimed SR Exchange will take place Thursday 1st October at the Crowne Plaza, 1 Kings Cross Road, London. The modern conference and meeting facility is located close to major travel termini including St Pancras International, Kings Cross, and Euston train stations.

Announcing details of the event which once again is free to attend for Bacta members, Director of Communications Allaster Gair said: “The SR Exchange is a key event on the Bacta calendar and one that clearly demonstrates the industry’s steadfast commitment to player protection and the delivery of socially responsible low-stake, low-prize gambling entertainment.

“The 2025 edition was oversubscribed and to answer the demand from members we’ve secured a new venue that boasts excellent travel connections. Although we have a bigger capacity venue, we are encouraging member companies to RSVP early in order to secure places for their consumer-facing teams.”

Underlining the unique characteristics of the Bacta SR Exchange he added: “The Exchange provides an opportunity for team members to share their experiences, learn from each other and consolidate a culture of best practice. As such it is pitched at those who can influence change day to day within venues which in practical terms means more consumer-facing shop floor managers and supervisors rather than senior leadership.

“Our aim is to create an environment where people feel comfortable engaging openly, rather than feeling judged or observed.”

He noted: “There are a large number of safer gambling conferences and symposia which feature on policy but the Bacta SR Exchange is the only industry event that deals with the practicalities of delivering a positive in-venue experience for every machine player. Content-wise, the focus will be on building trust in customer interactions, alongside practical approaches to complaints procedures. The day will also draw on the insight of external stakeholders, details of which will be announced as soon as their participation is confirmed. For the time being I would encourage members to reserve their space with Theresa Risby at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
