Tower Cinema and Arcade plans a facelift to showcase FEC at Skegness landmark

Skegness’ historic Tower Cinema and Arcade is set for a refurbishment intended to transform the building’s appearance and better showcase the on-site FEC.

The work is being supported by a Towns Fund grant, overseen in the town by regeneration project Connected Coast. Plans focus on repairing the Lumley Road-facing wall, with repointing, window repairs, and improvements to the entrance and canopy. The scheme is expected to enhance the frontage while retaining the venue’s character and presence.

The facelift will complement an internal programme of investment delivered and funded by the owners, Teen Spirit, aimed at improving the overall cinema experience.

“Securing this Connected Coast funding marks an exciting moment for The Tower Cinema and Arcade,” said Charlton Cooper, director of Teen Spirit. “The building has been at the heart of Skegness for generations, and this support allows us to restore its facade with the care and quality it deserves”

Chris Baron, chair of Connected Coast, said the plans reflect the project’s commitment to investing in Skegness.

“Tower Cinema has been a mainstay of Skegness town centre for many years, providing entertainment for generations of families,” he concluded. “We’re pleased to support these external improvements that will add to this much-loved venue’s appeal whilst retaining its character and presence on Lumley Road.”
