Sailor Boy Amusements and Family Fun Park owner Scott Masterson has died aged 52 following a short illness, having dedicated his life to running the St Osyth attraction.
Masterson was born and raised at the fun park which his parents started in the 1970s, and was a well-loved presence at the arcade alongside wife Nicola.
“Scott sadly passed away on 17 August after a short illness, leaving our family completely heartbroken,” said Nicola Masterson. “I would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing team for keeping our businesses going, and for supporting me and the whole family throughout what has been an incredibly difficult time.”
“Your hard work, support and loyalty mean more than you know. Thank you to all our customers for your understanding and continued support. Forever loved, forever missed, Scott.”
Masterson’s funeral will be held at Weeley Crematorium at 2pm on 21 September, followed by a “celebration of Scott’s life” at Stoke by Nayland Golf and Country Club, from 4pm.
“Scott never ‘conformed’ so wear whatever you wish,” said Nicola Masterson. “We look forward to remembering good times with you all. Let’s give him the send off he deserved.”
