It seems there’s no stopping Clacton Pier as it charts in Europe’s top 20 parks for the second year running. And it’s all down to visitor reviews.
Clacton Pier has been named one of the best amusement parks in Europe by Tripadvisor for the second year in succession, as part of the consumer review site’s Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best 2026.
The pier was placed 17th out of more than 1,000 amusement and water parks across the continent, meaning it is ranked in the top one percent of listings around the world, a fact GM Harry Peek described as “very special.”
“To officially be named one of the best in Europe for the second year running is very special and a real testament to all who have helped us win this prestigious accolade,” said Peek. “It is based on genuine guest reviews from the past 12 months, no judging panels, nominations or applications.”
“Those responsible for us getting this award are firstly our guests, and we have around one million a year, who have enjoyed their visit and have taken the time to post a review.”
Peek also thanked pier staff, who “really do deserve a lot of the credit.”
“I would like to take the opportunity to publicly thank them very much for all their efforts. It has come at a perfect time at the start of a new season and let’s hope it’s just the start of a bumper year for all of us in the tourism and hospitality sector.”
